Fixed Snoezelen®

Whilst there are many benefits to having mobile sensory options, the best solution to most is to have a dedicated and permanent Snoezelen® environment. A space devoted to multi-sensory resources is more practical as it will be easier to:

Control lighting levels (products featuring lighting are more effective in a darkened environment)

• Ensure that all the products are used appropriately and under supervision
• Plan access to the room so that scheduled sessions are less likely to be interrupted
• Regulate levels of sensory input (e.g. control noise levels to remove distractions and avoid sensory overload)
• Switch products on and o and so control levels of stimulation and introduce products in a structured way
